[4.7.0-op24] Known bugs

Version 4.7 has parameter checking for the api, and this command rewrites the repeater's parameter checking file. Allows the EAP to work properly. You can log in to the router backend via ssh and enter the above command

Everything working stable and I love the new interface for the VPN etcetera.
The only problem I face is that VPN policy bypass is not always working, have to reset this every time, although the mac address is present in no VPN. Using Mullvad and Adguard home.

Does your device choose automatically a new MAC maybe?

Not that I'm aware of. I've had it on two devices as well. Currently did a complete reset and will let you know whether the problem persists. There's no way to just put the IP address in there right (only MAC addresses)?

I have upgraded from 4.7.0-op21 beta 3 to 4.7.0-op24 beta 1 and the issue with NordVPN Wireguard is persisting.
For Canada and USA the only servers available are from West Coast: Vancouver and Seattle. Nothing else exist as option.
I am not on West Coast, time zone is set to EST, but still cannot see any other city in both countries.

I can’t access Luci on 8080 for some reason. I was playing with builds and installed vanilla openwrt on my flint 2 then switched back to beta 4.7 and now I can’t seem to access luci on the http port or https port.

Try incognito browser.

I have the same deployment scenario and I live in the US. Any MTU above 1280 makes the wire-guard connection fail.

Hi,
Are you connecting to the Internet via a modem?
Did you change the MTU of the wireguard interface or the modem interface?
This will help us locate the problem.

No, not intended. All my wifi losses iternet acces. Incredibly, passthru vpn from wan i can acces them.

mt3000 or mt6000, which firmware did you upgrade from?

lower than expected speeds on a mt6000:

Mt6000 from 4.7.0 latest beta december. Keeping settings.

(4.7.0-op24 Beta 2024-12-09 )Flint 2 MT6000. Problems with the speed in the Wifi connection. After a while the speed decreases. If I disconnect the device and reconnect it, the speed returns to normal for a while. With previous versions I did not have that problem. Stable versions 4.6.4 / 4.6.8 / 4.7.0 I had no problems.

Has there been any changes made to the Openwrt kernel, as there's a report of 24.10.0-rc2 causing overheating issues on the MT2500a cpu and packet loss on the Openwrt forums.

Suggestions for the developers of the GL-MT6000 (Flint2) router. Add L2TP, PPTP, IPsec, IKEv2 protocols to the next router firmware. Not all VPN services work with OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols

That's a little backwards thinking, don't should they be thinking forward like adding AmneziaVPN instead?

I’m using WireGuard on my iOS client (over WiFi and cellular) and on other GL.iNET routers (WiFi only) to remotely connect to my home office network. Across all scenarios—whether using mobile data from the two providers I subscribe to, Spectrum Internet at my partner’s apartment, or hotel networks while traveling—I’ve noticed similar behavior.

Many posts suggest that setting the MTU to 1280 is the ā€œmagic numberā€ to avoid connectivity headaches, particularly on mobile networks worldwide. This article provides an excellent explanation of the issue: WireGuard MTU Fixes.

If the provider does not support OpenVPN then it is a very poor VPN provider, I mean not very secure and I do not recommend using something like that. PPTP is already withdrawn from many providers and OpenVPN is supported by almost every router with the VPN Client option that is not older than 5 years.

AmneziaVPN is no different than Wireguard except for the fact that it has more anonymity. So unless you're selling weapons online and using VPN to break the law, it's an unnecessary protocol. That's what I think
