I have a flint 1 which I have been trying to use with my Flint 2 (main router) do you have to configure the wireless first before connecting to the main router selecting (Access Point
Connect to a wired network and broadcast a wireless network) as I feel the WiFi is not working the status LED is a light blue flashing slowly.
Both routers on the latest firmware 4.7.0.

Hello,

  1. Does the Flint 2 router Internet access ok?
  2. Does the Flint 1 router Internet access ok when its network mode is router?
  3. Please first setup the wireless configuration of the Flint 1 first, and then switch to AP mode.

When the Flint 1 as the AP mode and connected to Flint 2, the Flint 2 Clients list will display the Flint 1 IP, you also can access the Flint 1 Web UI via the IP address.

Thank you for the reply the flint 2 is now on firmware 4.7.4 since I posted and is my main router and yes it access the internet and so does the flint 1, but you can’t access the flint 1 web interface once it’s put into AB mode but does not broadcast the WiFi, the only way round this is to reset the flint 1 and manually set up the WiFi settings then reconnect it to the flint 2 via the wan port and and the computer in one of the the LAN ports after selecting (Access Point Connect to a wired network and broadcast a wireless network) you only see the main router.

If Flint2 ensures that the network is normal, then you can connect it to Flint 1 through the network cable, like this topology:
Flint 2 - (LAN) <---> (WAN) - Flint1 - (LAN) <---> PC

  1. PC access the Flint 1 GL GUI through the Flint 1 LAN IP.
  2. Setup the Flint1 to Access Point mode.
  3. Check the LAN IP of Flint 1 on the Flint 2 GL GUI Client list, access the Flint 1 through the new LAN IP, and configure the Flint 1 Wireless configuration.

I set up follow these steps and saw the WiFi of Flint1 is still broadcasting under the AP mode and this issue is not reproduced.

Thanks for you’re help it’s just no ip address in the Flint 2 client list for the Flint 1 but if I set up the wireless first it over comes the problem I had with no Wi-Fi extension.

Can you record a desktop video to describe the issue of setting Flint1 as AP mode?

Follow the steps I mentioned above to set up, my Flint1 sets as AP is normal. (primary router is Flint2)

It’s a a bit awkward to take a video, I will rest the flint 1 and try again but I have a more urgent problem which I’m waiting for some help, thank you for your hep it is very appreciated, when I get it to work I will let you know.
