# Add support for AmneziaWG 3.1 to GL-MT3000 on next beta firmware

Hello!

The AmneziaVPN protocol was updated to AmneziaWG version 3.1 today. I have a Beryl AX (GL-MT3000), and I would like to see support for the AmneziaVPN 3.1 protocol in the next beta firmware.

Can users/developers of AmneziaVPN stop asking for native support on every firewall/router platform on planet Earth so you can bypass your native country government restrictions on the use of VPNs?

Just install it on your [Windows](https://docs.amnezia.org/documentation/instructions/installing-app-on-windows/) or [Linux](https://docs.amnezia.org/documentation/installing-app-on-linux/) client and move on with life.

I have devices where no VPN client can be installed (smart TV, consoles, streaming boxes), so the router is the only place to set up the tunnel. It also lets me manage routing in one spot instead of on every device. GL.iNet already supports AmneziaWG natively, the issue is just version compatibility between the firmware and the current protocol.

It is the server side installation on Windows that I find to be quite tricky to setup!
