Hi there,
I would say that we urgently need a warning on the plug-in page, so people will understand that updating the plugins might lead to a broken device.
I understand why the plug-in page is there - but it's not marked as some “advanced” feature right now, and people just think that it's perfectly fine to use them. In most cases, it might be OK, but sometimes - especially if someone is updating all plugins including lua-eco - it will simply break everything; unrecoverable without going through a full reset.
Therefore, I would kindly ask GL to improve the plug-in page and add at least a big warning. Maybe even hide the whole plug-in-management page behind a "Are you sure you want to continue?" page.
Something like Firefox did:
Or a warning like in Chrome:
Hope to see some improvement here.

prompting to re-enter the login password so people have to read the warning would help as well

I thought only things via LUCI were risky.
Are you saying that using the GL UI to update the plugins is also risky?
