AdGuard Home On Firmware v4.7.4

Has anyone noticed that AdGuard Home doesn’t upgrade on Firmware 4.7.0 on the GL-AXT1800 Slate AX Running firmware 4.7.4 on the Flint 2 no problem, I did get it running on the GL-AXT1800 Slate AX the next day AdGuard Home shows a blank home page but still blocking ads, never had this issue on the last firmware, I either go back to the previous firmware or stick with the stock version of AdGuard and try again, on the next firmware.

Just flashed back to 4.6.1.1 firmware and AdGuard updates and works fine so there is an issue with 4.7.0 on the GL-AXT1800 Slate AX.

Hi it would not update, and when I managed to get it work after a few hours the AdGuard page went blank going back to the previous firmware everything worked fine.

When you say ‘update’, are you referring to the blocklists or the application itself?

Sorry the app itself, staying with the stock version seems ok not really run it, if manual update the program manually it goes blank, and if you update it using the update button in AdGuard home it freezes, it’s not due to lack of room either, the earlier firmware perfect.

Have you tried updating via the AdGuardHome --update command ?

Only the standard way to update it when AdGuard home informs you that there is a new version available, I have removed the don’t update line or that option isn’t available.

I would try to log into the router via putty, and then update AdguardHome via the command line. This should actually work.

I’m not very good with SSH unfortunately I use WinSCP got it working and like said before after a short time it froze the AdGuard home page.

Which version of AdGuardHome do you use on your GL-AXT1800 when updating via WinSCP? Do you make sure to set the correct access rights? And do you stop AdGuardHome in the GUI before copying the new version over?

yes i do stop it running and it works flawlessly on 4.6.11 and earlier firmwares

Sorry did answer your question on my Slate AX AdGuard with the old firmware go the latest AdGuard v0.107.60 an on my Flint 2 i just tried my Flint 1 with Firmware 4.7.0 and that is the same as the Slate AX will not update.

Overall problem is Adguard home config.yaml which not match version Adguard home after upgrade firmware.
You could do what @admon made script.
Or cut file config.yaml and open page looks like installation Adguard home. Fill random, upgrade Adguard home. Turn off Adguard home, delete generated new file config.yaml and paste your config.yaml. should be work if you did upgraded Adguard home before.

Yes I have had that issue in the distant past but Flint 2 works fine without keeping the original config file, I did try that as a matter of corse anyway makes no difference but thanks for pointing it out.
Something drastic has been changed in Firmware 4.7.0, as previous firmwares on both routers work without issues.

Do you know flint 2 did not all files to change after firmware. Only specific folders changed during upgrade firmware.

That's not correct. All files will be replaced, only the one in /etc/config and all mentioned files in /etc/sysupgrade.conf won't be touched.

I noticed Firmware 4.7.0 has been removed hope it's to fix AdGuard Home upgrade issue or the problem is not passed onto Firmware 4.8, still running 4.6.1.1
