Any POWERBANK can be used with BrumeW?

hi

wanna take brumeW onto street
and saw it use 5V 3A.

i did easily found such powerbank on shops,
but is there any recommendation or further
requirement?

as i know,
different voltage can fry a device,
yet if power bank s “A” is larger than
brumeW 's 3, this is ok.

Brume uses 5v/2a and yes any powerbank that supplies 5v and 2A+ should be fine.

New power banks have USB typeC and can output very high current now.

5V2A should works, but 5V3A is better.

i just visited xiaomi,

MOST of their powerbank /w type C, do support 5V 3A, BUT ALSO 9V 3A etc.

If I plug my brumeW into it, can I sure it will draw a 5V 3A and NOT a 9V 3A?

9V 3A may kill my brumeW?

The powerbank will only output 9V/12V/15V/20V after it has successfully negotiated QuickCharge or USB-C PD with the device.

In the case of Brumme-W, it will only get 5V.

Since you are in HK, you could get something like a Blitzwolf from TaoBao, will be just as good as the Xiaomi. I personally own the BlitzWolf BW-P10:

For monster batteries, i have the HyperJuice 27000mah battery pack, has USB-C PD 100W to charge my laptop.

Notice the current is low, remember this is idle, not doing anything. It is also not the Brume-W, so no wifi. At full power, it will use much more.

If you use a trigger of any kind you will blow your Brume-W. I supports only 5V.
You can use any USB-C cable such as Baseus (as i show in the photo above), but it must not trigger a voltage itself.

If you get a Xiaomi you must keep an eye on it. A lot of people have puffed batteries in them, you see that the aluminium shell starts to get fat, the battery inside is ready to blow up.

Personally, I’d prefer an USB-C or USB-C with PD (Power Delivery) cable to the QC 3.0 cable or 9V inducer.

If you look at the Brume’s spec sheet the Brume requires 1x USB3.0 Type-C Power Supply. So, an USB-C or USB-C with PD (Power Delivery) cable is more suitable.

Is your power bank you’re getting PD compatible?

Brume does not have USB-C PD capability, you can see my photo higher up, it will only use 5V, legacy USB power.

The plug is USB-C but only compliant in the lowest level.

You can use a USB-A to USB-C cable, or USB-C to USB-C cable, its up to you how much you want to spend on the cable, it does no difference.
