Beryl AX - 2.4 GHz network not being broadcasted (can't be seen from any other devices) by the router

I am unable to find the 2.4 GHz band connection (including the guest wifi) from my Beryl AX router on the other devices that I have. I am not sure but this might be after an update that happened. The weird part was this was a sporadic issue which seemed to have disappeared a while ago and used to come up during certain reboots. Now, it seems to be not showing up at all. The 5GHz connection seems to be unaffected and I'm being able to connect to it.

The interfaces also seem to show all the SSIDs including the ones of the 2.4 GHz and even the guest wifis. Is this a hardware issue?

I had contacted support and they suggested me to try factory resetting but that hasn't helped even after trying multiple times. Is anyone else facing the same issue (since the past two or three updates)?

Hi,

If say the reset/restore to factory settings and not work, did you try to brand new flash the firmware in the uboot mode?

Please share this info with me:

  1. Syslog, PM me please.
  2. SSH to the router:
    ifconfig
    iwinfo
    ubus call network.wireless status
    cat /etc/config/wirelss

Hello Bruce,

Thank you for the suggestions! I will try flashing the firmware in the uboot mode.

Regarding the outputs of the commands, is there anyway to send them to you privately? (I'm not sure of the things in the output which might be confidential.)

Best regards,
Joel

I will PM you first, probably the account level is newbie, there is not PM

Thanks! I have shared the info in the PM.

Thank you.

From the original read wireless configuration and the hardware initialization process from syslog, we can see that there seems to be no issue with the hardware of the device.

And there seems to be no issue with the wireless configuration after the system is started.

Please try in the uboot mode to flash the firmware to see if the issue occurs.

Ok, let me try flashing the firmware.

Hello,

I tried flashing with a variety of the firmware versions. I tried the latest one and one from the time when I wasn't facing this issue. I also tried the OpenWRT ones. But the issue seems to persist.

I just realised that at the time when I had shared the logs, the 2.4 GHz network was working all right for a bit but then it stopped working afterwards. Can I share the current logs where the 2.4 GHz is not working at all so that it could be analysed?

Best regards,
Joel

I also wanted to add that the router has also stopped discovering any 2.4 GHz networks when looking for WiFi networks to connect to via the repeater mode.

Couldn't this very much be an issue with the hardware? Also, I will shared the logs for the current situation shortly in the private chat.
