I purchased a Beryl AX on Lazada in Thailand. Fully expecting it to be the global version as the sellers description included Tor and VPN. The device is useless to me as I bought it for the VPN abilities and convenience. I have tried updating the firmware but still have the same issue. Can this device possibly be flashed into a global version? If not I have a few days to return it. ---

There's no official way to convert, but the user can still flash to actual Openwrt and check on the Openwrt forums. ---

There is some workarounds. But this is official forum and nobody here will tell you how as this prohibited. I have been given a few suggestions, or openwrt as you said. Better than nothing. Unfortunately the seller advertised it as having vpn or I wouldn't of bought it. It seems I might be able to return it and will give that a go first. Returns in Asia are not a standard practice, but as the advertising was false and it was sold through Lazada I may have a chance. ---
