Beryl GL-MT3000 not being asked to "Trust this device"

I'm following the instructions to tether my new Beryl to my iPhone 16's hotspot, but when I get to the part about switching on the HotSpot and the screen is supposed to ask me to "Trust this device," I don't get that prompt; then when I go to the admin page there's no "connect" under Tether, only "No Tethering device found. Plug in your smartphone or USB Modem to start." (The phone does charge, though, so the cable is working.)

Here's a step by step description of how I follow the instructions on this YouTube tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-bNa6RjQXY :

  1. I plug in the Beryl.
  2. I connect to the Beryl WiFi, type in the password, and join the WiFi.
  3. I type the URL and log in to the admin page.
  4. I plug the phone into the the USB in the back of the Beryl.
  5. I navigate to the iPhone's Personal Hotpot and turn on "Allow Others to Join."
--This is where I expect to get the prompt to Trust This Computer, but the prompt never comes.--
  6. I go back to the Admin page and expect to see a Device name and a "connect" button under Tether, but I still just see "No Tethering device found. Plug in your smartphone or USB Modem to start." (The phone does charge, though, so the cable is working.)

I'm told I have the latest firmware on the Beryl (and the iPhone).

Help?

Are you connected to the beryl wifi with your phone while you are trying to tether? If so, you need to disconnect from the wifi first.
