My Comet POE is connected to Macbook Pro. It works fine but after few hours it just always shows black screen. It gets fixed after rebooting Comet but i still want to find and fix the root cause. The controlled Device works fine because i also use it with PiKVM which works flawlessly. Its just the Comet that shows black screen after a while. The stream status says the stream is active. Looking for insights
P.S. - I am a newbie in this field so please help me out on which logs to provide if they are needed
It was fixed once i changed Video EDID using the dashboard but this issue keeps on occuring back after few hours. If i dont access Comet for few hours, it will be black screen until i change the EDID or reboot.
But i still need to figure out why it reverts to black screen which only gets fixed by either changing EDID or reboot
I suspect the issue might be with your Type-C to HDMI hub.
Generally, if the screen is black but there is a frame rate display, it might be due to an HDCP key missing issue. However, if it is indeed an HDCP problem, you would only get a black screen output from the very beginning.
Maybe you could try switching to a different HDMI hub, or use your PIKVM to determine if the issue is related to this hub.
