Blocking protocol in Content filtering?

Why isn’t there an option to block the protocols detected by the DPI engine in Data Statistics, like QUIC and “OpenVPN”? Could it be added?

We have recorded your request and submitted it for further evaluation.

As a temporary workaround, some protocols can be restricted with firewall rules in LuCI → Network → Firewall → Traffic Rules, you can use firewall rules to block some protocols by port, for example UDP 443 for QUIC, or TCP/UDP 1194 for OpenVPN using the default port.

However, please note that OpenVPN can use custom ports, so this cannot fully replace DPI-based protocol blocking.
