Hi everyone, I bought a fresh Opal GL-SFT1200 from Aliexpress, the unit came fresh new in a plastic wrapped box, everything seems fine except for a small detail: the out of the box firmware.
My unit came with firmware 4.3.28 release2 (compile time 2025-06-25 20:18:29(UTC+08:00)) but on the Opal page at GL.iNet download center I only see 4.3.25 as the latest stable, or 4.7.2 beta.
Is this a genuine firmware version or should I get worried?
GL has been known to pull bad 'stable' firmware if there's subsequent disastrous reports but I can't say for certain that's the case here. I'm less likely to think what you're seeing is a supply chain attack but someone fr GL can clarify. They're pretty active on this forum but they're in China so 'timezones' & all that...

The firmware v4.3.28 is indeed released by R&D, but it is only used for factory production and not to the public.
Compared with v4.3.25, no new features are added.
You can continue to use v4.3.28, v4.3.25, or v4.7.2.
