Brume 2 suddenly stopped working

Hello,

Seems like my case is not isolated, but I will avoid polluting others' threads.

I was using the Brume 2 (MT2500) as a Wireguard VPN server, connected to my home's ISP router, for a year or so. Usage was minimal, only connecting to it when working remotely and that's quite rare.

Tried to test the connection before leaving the house today (as it sometimes doesn't work anymore after a long period and needs a firmware update) and noticed the router couldn't be reached.

Here are the steps that I tried doing:

  • Remote connection to the GUI via goodcloud: not working, no response, despite showing as Online at first
  • Connection to laptop via Ethernet on LAN port: couldn't reach http://192.168.8.1/ (did not change the default address btw)
  • Reboot by powering off/on: LED shows, but still no response after waiting, for both previous methods. After this, it didn't show online anymore on goodcloud
  • Factory reset: no effect. Tried pressing the reset button for short, long times, tried several patterns, but no changes
  • Using Uboot: could reach the Uboot UI, upload a firmware... but stuck in the reboot phase. I tried several firmware versions, all compatible with Uboot. Tried to wait for 30min+ before attempting to reach the main admin panel, but no response (changed my manual IP to automatic too)

Any insights on this or things that I may try? My Brume 2 is in excellent condition. The LED shows and is static, but router itself doesn't work at all. I also have a Beryl at home and all the above methods work (goodcloud, LAN with laptop, reboot and test).

I can provide details if needed. Last known used firmware is 4.5.16. Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out.
And truly sorry about this.

Do you try to upgrade the 4.7.0 firmware in uboot mode?
