Hello, I am new here but have read a ton of help topics to get everything set up and working (to where it is).
For a quick breakdown of my issue, I purchased a Brume 2 to use at an apartment as both a VPN Server and a VPN Client. I am using Wireguard for both the server and the client. The server is working perfectly, and I can connect to it with no issues from other locations. The client is connected back to my home server but has no internet. I have checked port forwarding rules, confirmed the IP addresses are unique, and confirmed the client is connected (it shows on my home VPN server that the Brume 2 is connected to my home VPN).
For more details, other VPN Clients have been able to connect to my home VPN Server with internet and no issues, so I think that the issue must be with something on the network stack at the apartment location - or with my settings of the Brume 2 itself.
The network setup at the apartment is:
- AT&T Router (stuck with this)
- Wifi (for local connections)
- Passthrough mode to Brume 2
- Port 51820 forwarded
- Brume 2 (from Passthrough from AT&T Router in WAN port)
- VPN Server (fully working)
- VPN Client (connected with no internet)
- LAN Port to AP (with intention of having the VPN Client go through this AP)
For various reasons my goal with this setup is to have all traffic at the apartment go through normal channels through the AT&T box, but have all traffic from devices connected to the AP (that is in the Brume LAN port) to route through the VPN.
Something I just thought of while typing this post that I can’t try until I get back to the apartment is that maybe my VPN Server and VPN Client on the Brume 2 can’t use the same port forwarding rules? Is that a thing?
Some additional info: I know the VPN server I am connecting to works, as 4-5 other clients connect with no problem. I can see the Brume connected to it as well, but no internet through the Brume LAN port (on the VPN Client). The AT&T Box is the BGW320. The AP I’m using is an old Linksys router/AP combo that I’ve turned into just AP mode (disabled all routing). When connected to the Linksys AP, I can connect to the Brume 2 through that connection, so I know this is working as well.
Really looking for any help you guys can provide and any troubleshooting steps you suggest! It may take me a bit to try it out, as I’m not at the apartment too often, but this has been stumping me for several attempts now. I’ll answer whatever questions you have as quickly as I can. Thanks in advance!
