Brume2 wg poor perf unless a device is on lan?

Hi,

I noticed a pattern where my brume2 as WireGuard server, would give very poor performance to various client. (10mb while both client and server connected 1gb internet)

I tried reboot and different conf of network acceleration, what have you, the strangest thing seem to resolve my issues m: plugging in a dummy device on its LAN port
Then it’s back to 300mb

My brume2 is currently updated to the latest official firmware with pretty much all default options

Am I going crazy?

What it the 'dummy device' you mean?

After you connected this 'dummy device' to the router which work as wg server, then this router's (Internet) rate speed of LAN and WLAN, will be back to normally 300Mbps , right?

Please let me know what the firmware version is, and what configuration of router is, just more detail, I try to reproduce your situation.

I suspect OP is saying that if you are using only the WAN port on Brume2 and the LAN port is not up (even if no actual devices exist on the LAN network) then speeds a lower than expected. However, if you connect the LAN port to a switch or other host which are not used in the wireguard config (all hosts are on the WAN side of Brume2) then the speeds are improved.
