Cant find Printer connected to IoT network on firmware v4.9

I got a printer with apple supported wireless printing and its connected wireless to IoT network, however my iPhone cant seem to find the printer… any help?

Note: thing works when its connected to main wifi network… printer wifi only support WPA2 and all my main network configured WPA3 only.

Hi,

The IoT network is isolated from the main LAN by default, so the iPhone may not be able to access the printer on the IoT network.
To allow the LAN where the iPhone is connected to access the IoT network where the printer is connected.

Please go to Security -> ACL and click Add Rule to add a rule.

Set Source Zone to LAN, and select the iPhone‘s IP as Source Address.
Set Destination Zone to IoT, and select the printer's IP as Destination Address.

Set Action to Accept, then apply the settings.

You should be aware that iPhones have ‘Rotating’ Wi-Fi addresses enabled by default. You may need to change this setting if the ACL rule you create expects the same MAC address. When you create the rule, is should provide the list of devices from the router that you can select - so I suspect the rule may only work if these match.

Under iPhone Wi-Fi settings, then Private Wi-Fi address, you can Choose:

Off: Broadcasts your iPhone’s true hardware MAC address (no masking)
Fixed: Creates a fake randomised MAC address and retains it for the specific Wi-Fi network. It won’t change as long as you remain paired to that network.
Rotating (default): Generates a random MAC address every 2 weeks.

Does it work if i leave the “Source and Destination addresses” empty?, since i see “optional” wordings on the textbox by default.

Yes, it will work if you leave the Source Address and Destination Address empty.
In that case, the rule applies to all devices in the selected Source Zone and Destination Zone.

As mentioned above, iPhone private Wi-Fi address may change, you can leave Source Address empty and setting Destination Address to the printer’s IP address.
At the same time, please reserve or fix the printer’s IP address, so the ACL rule will not break if the printer gets a new IP.
