Clone MAC causes ATX to Crash (GL-AXT1800)

Hi. I encountered a weird, but reproduceable bug.

GL-AXT1800 v4.8.2

I tried to enable mac clone on my device, to login to the hotel wifi. The glinet router kept crashing every time the cloned device connected to the network.

Example: I set it to clone my phone mac. It crashed trying to connect to the hotel. After reboot, i used my PC to connect to Glinet router and login to the hotel portal. As SOON as my phone tries to connect to the Glinet, the router crashes and reboots. I tried several times, always the same thing would happen.

Here is the core dump and logs:

Hi

It appears that the issue was caused by a MAC address conflict.
Please try cloning your phone’s actual MAC address first, and then enable the random MAC address feature on your phone before reconnecting to the AXT1800.

We will add this reminder in a future firmware update.

I'm sorry, but a '“reminder” is not enough. In no circumstances should it be acceptable that a user action causes a device to crash and reboot. Either block it in software, implement a workaround, or disable the feature….

Thank you for your suggestion.
We will discuss it with the product team/R&D team to see if there are better solutions.
