Comet KVM Screen Freezes (MacOS)

I have a Comet GL-RM1 yhat I just got set up. It works pretty well and was fairly easy to get working, but I have noticed after some random period of time, the display stops being updated.

I am connecting to the KVM from a Mac Mini M4 running 26.0.1, and connecting to a Macbook Pro M1 running 26.1.

The screen freeze happens regardless of whether the laptop is left open or closed. when it’s open, I can see that mouse and keyboard input is still being sent through, as I can see the effect on the laptop’s native display, but the remote display is frozen. The only way to fix it is to close the window and then reconnect to the device.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it? Let me know if you need more information.

Could you please export the log to us for analysis next time after you meet this issue? Thank you.

In addition, can the freeze display be restored by mouse clicking or keyboard pressing?

can you try using chrome and glkvm.com ?

or using normal mode than smart mode

I don’t know what smart mode vs normal mode is.

I’d prefer to use the client than a browser, but i can try that if we can’t find a solution.

The freezes are not curred by mouse or keyboard. If i have the laptop open, i can see the input being received by the computer. It’s just the display that is frozen.

Logs are attached.

For the macOS client, using Chrome to access glkvm.com might actually provide a better experience. Regarding Smart Mode, this mode consumes less data, but some new features may require browser support, which is why I recommend using Chrome—only Chrome has implemented all the new features.

I checked your logs, and the most obvious error is the constant indication that your network environment is experiencing packet loss. Currently, the software performs poorly in weak network conditions. We already have some optimization plans in place, but they will take time to implement.

In that case, it will possibly be remedied when I get a switch that lets me replace the wifi connection with a wired one. (It’s currently plugged into a mesh node.)

Well, I got my new switch which allowed me to hardwire the KVM to the network rather than relying on an WiFi bridge. It’s now been steady for the last 2 days, so I think we can call this closed.

Feature suggestion – if there’s constant disconnects like that that might affect performance, might add some kind of notification. But I do deeply appreciate the help here, you were very responsivle and quick to isolate my issue.
