Hi,
I have a question/concern about the HDMI functions on the new COMET X.
First, though I think it’s unambiguous, I refer to GL.iNet Comet X (GL-RM4PE).
Second, for this device, I observe that the front panel has NO HDMI connection available. I also observer that on the rear of the device there are FIVE HDMI connections available. Four for the 4 “controlled” computers, but there is another labeled as “HDMI Out”. https://www.gl-inet.com/cdn/shop/files/2_65aeb835-9bfe-4d09-9eb5-133fcfe3704f.jpg Is it this “HDMI Out” which I am wondering about.
Third, and to my questions/concerns: if you connect an HDMI monitor to this “HDMI Out” port, do you get a “pass through” HDMI connection? OR if you connect to this “HDMI OUT” does it give you the video output of the COMET X itself? or is the entire COMET X interface access through a webserver served by the COMET X?
I view the manual and I see that on the front of the device there is a button with left and right arrows. And in the “Product Overview”, it says that this button can be used to “..quickly switch between the four connected devices via the physical button on the front panel when on site, or via the remote console when away.”. Reading this makes me think that the “HDMI Out” port on the rear can be used to achieve the function of “HDMI Passthrough” but on only one device at a time and that the button on the front can be used to do so.
So is it correct that the front panel button can be used to support HDMI passthrough using the HDMI out port on the rear and the button is used to switch between them? I think “yes”, but I wonder if anyone can confirm?
thanks!
