Compatibility of RM520N-GL (via USB adapter) with new Slate 7 router

Hi. I’m planning to use a Quectel RM520N-GL 5G module connected via USB adapter (like the one in the picture below).

Will the new GL.iNet Slate 7 router recognize it and provide internet access (main or backup) through the USB port?

I know Slate 7 supports USB tethering and some LTE modems, but I’m not sure about 5G modules like RM520N-GL (Sub-6 GHz, PCIe/USB 3.1).

Does the firmware include the required drivers, or would it need custom configuration (e.g., qmi, mbim, or rndis mode)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

The RM520N-GL is listed in the compatibility list, so it should work directly.

This USB adapter also appears to provide an Ethernet interface, which should allowing you to connect directly via the WAN port of Slate 7 instead of using the USB connection.
