Connect devices outside the GL inet router network to AdGuard

Hey folks,

I have a GL-B3000 connected to my main router, I bought this for VPN Client/Server and recently enabled Adguard Home

My devices are mostly connected to my main router but I'd like to have them benefit the Adguard protection.

The GL did get an IP from the main router subnet, but I cannot access use it.

I enabled a port forwarding from port 53 to 3053 (GL main router's IP assigned) but still nothing.

I read something about firewall rules and stuff, but before doing such, I wanted to bring this hear and hear your comments,

I've changed WAN to LAN and assigned the IP to the LAN port but then I lost internet needed for my VPN services,

Maybe Drop-in mode is more suitable for you: How to set up drop-in gateway - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

I just read about it and seems to be the option, but my TP-link mesh system I use as my main router does not have the option to disable DHCP nor change the gateway,

Is there other option to could help?

Ok,

Made it work for my setup

I since this is a router connected to my main router, I don't have issues with opening ports,

So I opened port 53 and updated my main route DNS to point to the WAN IP GL router has (which is a local ip my main router provided) and perfect, AdGuard is now protecting all of my main devices

Thanks!
