Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up a WireGuard connection between two GL.iNet GL-BE3600 routers, but I can’t get it to work.

The client always times out (startup-connecting-timeout / ACTION=REKEY-GIVEUP), and the server never shows any connected clients or handshake.

Both routers have Internet access, and the configuration seems correct. The server is behind an Xfinity gateway.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this or what I should check next?

And that's the issue, I guess. You need to do port forwarding, and you need to make sure that there is no CGNAT. Try https://cgnat.admon.me for checking.

I had a problem with WireGuard - I had to opt out of CGNAT for WireGuard to work (in Australia).
