We’re truly sorry that the Flint 3 didn’t meet your expectations this time. Please rest assured that we are continuously working to improve our products. I’ll email you at your @me.com address to begin processing your return request.
Thanks for your patience and understanding all the time.
In the latest snapshot version, we have resolved the WiFi connection issue of the Ring Door, please upgrade to snapshot firmware without keepsettings for Flint 3 to test:
Many other issues have emerged with the Snapshot, devices state they password is incorrect when it is not (copy and paste same password multiple times). The Gl-inet app also keeps asking to reconnect. I am seeking a return.
I tested this with my BE9300, and the issue did not reproduce.
To avoid conflicts with other settings, please reset the firmware, and set a WiFi password again. Please forget this network on your laptop/phone, and re-enter the password and connect the WiFi.
If no luck, please export the syslog and send it to me via PM, will try to find the reason in the log.
Thank you, that is great news! Now if we can just get NAT Loopback working I can use the Flint 3, it has been sitting on my desk and collecting dust since July.
I’m the person who reported the issue initially. It is not a OpenWRT thing, it’s Qualcomm’s drivers. It works fine with Hardware Acceleration enabled on the Flint 2 (Mediatek processor). The Flint 3 processor is already slower than the Flint 2, the last thing I want to be doing is disabling Hardware Acceleration.
It's not the processor that's slower, it's the supported Wi-Fi spec that's slower. I disabled it on my Flint 3 with no noticable difference, but more stable.
I use my guest network as an IoT network. In order to pair some devices, I had to turn off AP Isolation for the guest network during setup.
NAT acceleration off uses more CPU resources because the CPU is processing everything itself, making it slower…
Also, the CPU in the Flint 3 (1.5GHz Quad) is slower than the Flint 2 (2GHz Quad) and this is reflected perfectly in wireguard performance with the Flint 3 being around 25% slower.
Which is why I’m still using the Flint 2. What’s the point of changing the router and setting everything up again only to be approximately as fast as my Flint 2.
I'm having the same issue with the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro battery. Just converted from Xfinity router to Flint 3. I can connect if I run 2.4 wide open but when I configure PSK the cams don't connect. Running the Flint 3 beta 4.8.99. It looks like it never completes authentication.
I sometimes get a p7-07 error and sometimes I get a wrong PW message. Set the PW to be just a string of As and still got invalid pw.
