Customize router switch button to VPN policies (On/Off)

Hello, I tried customize router (GL-MT300N-V2) switch button to VPN policies (On/Off), is it possible?
Because if it set to VPN on/off from button setting menu, the internet will down for a moment and sometimes it takes failure to connect. So maybe with VPN policies on/off I don’t need to turn off the VPN just filter the device that don’t need to connect the VPN with the switch button.

It is possible but I will not recommend it. I haven’t done that myself.
