Little story here with a issue I am having.
I have a Beryl AX and a Flint 2, both on newest firmware, both do the same symptoms. Reading around on google it seems like a GLInet or Openwrt issue. I seen alot of Asus guys with no issues.
I use a RJ45 with a RM551 running openwrt with dchp on the lan side. Then my flint 2 to run the house downstream of it.
Issue I have is if the router is rebooted, most times, not all, the router will say no internet. It will get a IP from the RJ45, and the internet connection will come and go every 5-10 seconds. It will say no internet, then internet, and so on. If I restart the RJ45 it works and the issues seem to go away. But after router reboots issue starts again.
This is made way worse if I use IPPT on the RJ45 or IPV6.
Now if I use my tmobile modem/router whicu only allows dchp and then the flint 2 downstream no issues. Its only with this RJ and any of the GLinet stuff so far. I have no other router brands to test, but Ive talk to a person or 2 and they have had no issues with their routers. My friend is running same setup (flint 2 and rj 45 and he has same issue).
All devices are connected via ethernet. No usb or tethering.
Anyone had this issue? Not sure if I need to try a asus or what. I love my flint but something isnt right.
If I connect the rj45 to my pc directly no issues. I can turn the ethernet adapter on and off all day long no issues.
I also noticed if the flint 2 is on dchp, the ipv6 address takes awhile to get from the rj45 some times.
Also, as I watch the luci interface on the RJ45, and the flint 2 is on dchp, sometimes Ill only have 1 lease ipv4 or 6. sometimes both. Say it shows IPV4 only even though I on IPV4 and IPV6, then I turnt the flint to static ipv4 and leave ipv6 optional, then instantly the rj45 will show a ipv6 lease.
Sounds like there are some openwrt issues according to google searches with DCHP. The RJ45 is running something older like openwrt 21 or so.
Please advise if anyone can.
