Try using the DNS lookup to see if there is an IPv4 also stored on the DDNS domain:
https://mxtoolbox.com/DnsLookup.aspx
Then you can change the DNS domain on the VPN confign to the actual IP.
Also try to ping it to force ipv4 using ping -4 in CMD to resolve the IP.
It seems the DDNS name has started resolving now. The lesson learned from this is to enable GoodCloud and set up a second DDNS provider, to have two different domain names for the server router. Thanks, everyone, for your help!
