Debricking using Uboot GL MT300N V2 Fail

Somehow when trying to update the firmware on my GLi MT300N V2 it crashed/stalled and my brand new router became a brick.

I tried following the protocol outlined here [https://docs.gl-inet.com/troubleshooting/debrick/#8-upgrading] to debrick and reinstall the firmware. The router now shows back up in my WiFi list to connect to but when I try to go to 192.168.8.1 in my browser to complete the setup and connect with my VPN, the page stalls and nothing loads. My main WiFI is running through the GLi Router but again, I can’t access anything to set it up for use as VPN router or repeater… Help!

Do I need to reset the router again using uboot? Could a faulty ethernet cable have messed up the uboot? (Hoping to get a new cord today, just to be sure)

Feeling totally lost and over my head with this so any help/guidance is much appreciated!

Which firmware did you flash using uboot? Can you show me the link? The firmware has to be correct.

You can always use uboot to flash the firmware again.

I used lede-mt300n-v2-2.264.bin from http://www.gl-inet.com/firmware/mt300n-v2/v1/

I then waited about 3 minutes before reverting the IP address.

If I need to flash the firmware again-- do I leave the router connected to the computer after updating the firmware or after the 3 minutes, do I unplug the ethernet from the computer and plug into the main modem before trying to access 192.168.8.1 to continue set up?

I got a new ethernet cable did the uboot again with lede-mt300n-v2-2.264.bin. All went well until I went to http://192.168.8.1/html/index?vpn.html&ovpn-client to upload the config for my dedicated IP address. When I click apply I get automatically bumped off the GLi Wifi back to my main modem and the log reads:

Auth failed means that your username or password is wrong. Can you pls check?
