Hi All, I have a Flint AX-1800 and I am trying to get the router to push the ISP’s DNS server to each client that connects to the router instead of the router’s internal IP address (192.168.8.1)
So far, I have not been able to figure this out. I have even went into the advanced (WRT) section and played around in there and don’t see this option.
Currently running the newest release of firmware 4.46.
Configure the DHCP server on the Flint GL-AX1800 router to give a specific DNS IP address via LuCI → Network → Interfaces → LAN → Edit → DHCP Server → Advanced Settings → DHCP-Options. Enter the following and click Save, then click Save & Apply:
6,(ISP DNS IP address)
I do not know if there is a way to automatically transfer the ISP DNS IP address, only to manually enter it specifically.
I do not work for and I am not directly associated with GL.iNet
Hi I did as suggested below and the router immediately stopped routing internet traffic. So I had to remove this.
I cut and pasted the above line “6,(ISP DNS IP address)”
Is there supposed to be a space after the comma or any other syntax changes?
Nevermind, I figured out what you meant and looked at the example.
I have it input now and it seems to be working. Thank you
for anyone else trying to do the same thing, this is what I entered:
