DNS Leaks on Brume 2

Hi there,
I have a Fritzbox 7530 AX as a router, disabled the DHCP and configured the brume 2 with the "drop-in gateway" feature + DHCP activation to secure my network. I have 2 questions:

Question #1: While my real IP isn't visible, do you know why my external IP is not always matching the one from the NordVPN server?

Here's my VPN server: : de1078.nordvpn.com.tcp - 194.233.96.73:443

but at the moment, my IP is this one: 5.180.61.185

Is it a problem? Shouldn't my external IP match the VPN server?

Question #2: using dnsleaktest, it is still possible to see my ISP / location which makes me think there is a DNS leak in my setup:

I tried activating Adguard home or not, but the situation is the same. How should I configure my setup to stop any leak?

Thank you very much for the support.

Is the VPN proxy mode selected the Global in the Brume2?

Update:
The real IP:

The server IP:
Brume2: NordVPN, DE profile, VPN proxy Global.

This seems related to the VPN provider, NordVPN, you can ask for them reason.
Probably there are servers cluster of NordVPN with multi IPs respectively. As long as the country corresponding to the IP is correct, I think will be no problem.

Thanks for your feedback, this issue in Drop-in gateway mode is known, it is in the plan to improve.

Yes, as you can see here:

I'm not sure to understand your screenshots, what do you mean by "real ip", the one without a VPN? In that case, showing a different IP when the VPN is activated doesn't prove much, right?

Ok, it's a bummer since I bought the Brume 2 exactly to protect my online traffic and you're saying it's a known bug.
Will it be a hardware or software update? Is there a delivery date?

Or is there any other way to configure the Brume 2 and avoid DNS leaks?

I think yes, as the real IP is related to the specific one VPN server, and probably not 1 server but servers cluster.
This question confirm probably requires asking your VPN provider.

Software update.
R&D already joins and analyze, please await.

NordVPN says 194.233.96.73:443 is the server IP and 5.180.61.185 is the exit ip. But today for example, my IP (with VPN activated) is 5.180.61.183.Does it make sense?

Could you please give some specifics? I'm trying to setup everything in order to use BitTorrent in Germany and don't want to risk a fine. So is that fix going to take days, months or years before being released? If it's too late in the future, I'll send back my Brume 2 and look for an alternative.

The exit IP 5.180.61.185 refers to the NordVPN server Internet exit, right?

Confirmed with PM team to know that this feature about the Drop-in Gateway + VPN Client is not ready, it is not legacy bug, and may take some time to improve.

Recommended to use Router mode as a workaround temporarily, something like WAN - Router (MT2500, VPN Client) - LAN - PC (BitTorrent), to prevent DNS leak.

BTW, may I know why use the BitTorrent in your country probably risked a fine? It just a download/share protocol.

To be honest: Don't use BitTorrent in Germany. Use One-Click-Hosters or online Torrent downloaders. They are WAY more safe than using torrent on your own device.

VPNs IP can change depending on what the VPN provider is doing - no need for worries.

Because of up and downloading illegal stuff. In Germany there are specialised companies which scan the BitTorrent trackers and as soon as your IP shows up, you will be reported to law enforcement.

Using BitTorrent for copyrighted material in Germany is very very stupid.

Though there are also private torrents for that or nzb sites.

But torrents itself also have legitimate sources, for example sometimes i found the isos from kernel.org very slow, but they also have torrent as alternative.

But yea my country netherlands has almost the same rules, though i totally disagree with their opinions, i strongly believe most illegal downloads are just a service problem and ppl should be allowed to preserve anything if they already had a copy of a license but that is not how it works atleast not in my country😋

Don't you think there is a way to protect our connection enough using a good VPN?

There is, but it's not worth the risk, in my opinion.
Copyright holders have a very strong legal force here in Germany. Would not recommend it.

There are plenty of other ways like One-Click-Hosters to get stuff you need.

I understand and it makes sense.

From my perspective, there is more and more websites with concerning practices when it comes to privacy. A friend of mine got an email from Coinbase saying that they have noticed he's been in Russia, asking for some "private" questions and official documents. Failure to answer would mean losing his account.

This is to me clearly unacceptable and could lead to many other abuses. I believe learning how to torrent safely in Germany is a great test when it comes to protecting my privacy.
