DoH3

Does the Flint 2 support DNS-over-HTTPS 3 (DoH3)?

Is the ControlD DNS in the Encrypted DNS -> DNS-over-TLS section using DoT, DoQ or DoH3? According to ControlD the DoT/DoQ url on their free DNS webpage supports DoQ and DoH3, if it is supported by the device/router/browser etc. Really wish the UI exposed the url/server/resolver it is using.

to use DNS-over-HTTPS/3 (DoH3) or DNS-over-QUIC (DoQ) with Control D’s free resolvers, you should use the same hostname as for other secure DNS protocols, so for Ads & Tracking filtering, that’s p2.freedns.controld.com

Regarding GL.iNet routers: Most GL.iNet models support DoH and DoT natively, but DoH3 and DoQ support depends on the specific firmware version and model. It’s best to check with GL.iNet directly for the latest compatibility"

If I want to use DoH3 or DoQ on my router is AdGuard Home the only option currently? Since I can add custom DNS server urls/addresses.

Will DoH3 and DoQ be supported in the upcoming update (4.8? or 4.9?) that will add the ability to add custom DNS?

DOH is handled by the dnscrypt-proxy (v2) daemon.

Hi,

The DNS feature of GL firmware supported the DOT and DOH with Control D, including the Flint2 you mentioned:

QUIC and H3 (HTTP/3) are not supported in firmware for the time being, you can use ADG to config these 2 protocols.

Will QUIC be added in the near future?

Thanks for responding!

Any timeline on adding QUIC and H3 (HTTP/3) support in the firmware?

When I log in to my Flint2 and go into the DNS settings →Encrytped DNS→ DoH - I do not see controld-block-malware-ad in the list of available DoH servers? Is that just available on a beta you may be running or just available for you somehow? Coming soon?

this DNS option is supported, please check again
