Yep, there will be Internet interruption when opening the Drop-in Gateway page.
Once this page is opened, the router will request the IP through DHCP, assume it is because the primary router/ISP modem does not reply to the offer IP, to stuck it to wait the reply.
We will modify the logic, the Drop-in Gateway will be requested IP only if it is enabled, but will not be requested if this page is opened.

Click the Drop-in Gateway page (but not configure), probably cause packet loss on the LAN clients, this issue is fixed in firmware v4.8.3.
Still getting this issue on v4.8.3
I changed from stable (4.8.3) to op24 (4.8.3) and was still encountering the issue. I have devices pinging externally constantly so this is not ideal.
Because I access my GL-MT6000 + my server externally (tailscale), accidentally clicking the “Drop-in Gateway” setting would completely lock me out with no way of recovering.
I decided to just disable the script that runs when Drop-in Gateway is clicked in the UI, which seems to work so far. I probably won’t ever need this setting anyway.

Presumably this will revert on a firmware update - hopefully without the same issues.
As long as you don't fix the config, the issue will persist. Since you can enter your device using SSH, you can simply open an SOCKS tunnel to your web interface and disable the Drop-In Gateway functionality in the UI.

Confirmed, the latest firmware for the MT6000 hasn't been merged this update, it will be in the v4.8.5 release.
when will the v4.8.5 release come?
Probably to be released in Q2. This issue doesn’t have a major impact on firmware features, so the release time will be slightly later.
