I've recently purchase two Flint 3 for upgrading my network and also starting a learning path towards networking.
My problem is this:
Right now, I've connected the two router in cascade like this:
ISP router (freebox if necessary as a detail) as highest point >> LAN port >> WAN of Flint 3 Main >> LAN >> unmanaged switch 2.5G (“old” hardware in my possess) >> WAN Flint 3 AP (set as router too).
All the devices connected to Flint 3 AP don't get access to internet but they can ping all devices, included the ISP router.
Even setting up the F3_AP as Acc. Point doesn't change anything and I prefer to be set as router to achieve “different layers" of network beyond the VLANs.
I'm able to access Luci, Gl.inet interface and ssh both of them. The F3_AP gets a DHCP IP but no internet at all.
I'm supposing a problem with DNS config. but I'm still learning, so I'm not sure.
It seems that there is nothing wrong with the topology.
Is this test in the client which connected to Flint3 AP? Did you try to ping a public domain or IP? For example, ping www.google.com, how about this?
The LAN subnets of ISP router, Flint3 main, and Flint3 AP need to be set to different ones.
Can the main FLint3 get access to the Internet? SSH to it, and check if the network is normal: ping www.google.com and ping 8.8.8.8
If the point 2 is normal, let us check the Flint3 AP, what does its GL GUI prompt? Is there a triangle yellow prompt of the interface (Ethernet to Flint3 main), for example:
the AP's devices can ping every device, main and AP subnet but when ping 8.8.8.8 give host unreachable from 10.1.1.146 (AP's ip address from the MAIN), also the AP router can not ping 8.8.8.8 or google.com but the terminal does not give any errore, just 100% packeges losted.
Main and his devices can ping google.com or 8.8.8.8 but can only ping devices inside the main subnet, they can not ping AP's ip addresses (Main's assegned and the one configure inside his subnet) and his devices
