Ethernet stopped working on work laptop

Trying to connect Slate Plus with work laptop using Ethernet port. It keeps connecting and reconnecting. I open control panel -> network from my laptop and it seems the adapter keeps disconnecting every 2-3 seconds. I’m not an admin on my work machine. My work laptop has Cisco vpn and logs say “no adapter available”. I think my work laptop is detecting and blocking the Ethernet driver. Out of curiosity, I had a tp-link ethernet-to-usb adapter lying around that I plugged in and it worked. Control Panel > Network displayed TP-link adapter.

What do you think is happening. I think my work IT has specifically disabled the Ethernet driver that GL.inet uses.

Update: seems same thing happens on my personal laptop too. It’s a driver issue ax88179a. Tried installing and uninstalling, no luck. Any ideas?

While you have the tp-link adapter, can you connect the cable from the adapter to the Slate router?

This is resolved. Just so it helps someone: I was feeding Ethernet from Slate/Beryl LAN port to Dell dock. From the Dell dock, I was using a usb-c extension cable made by Ugreen to my laptop. Seems the issue was with UGREEN usb-c extension cable. For some reason this cable causes issue with Ethernet from GL.inet router to Windows laptop. I ordered another UGREEN cable and it had same issue. Then, I got a different brand and it worked.
