Experiencing connectivity issues - internet drops randomly when connected via WAN

Hello Everyone,

I’m using my GL.iNet router as a VPN router, connected to another router via WAN and an Ethernet cable.

I noticed some strange behavior: at first, everything works fine, but after a few hours (anywhere from 2 to 12), my GL.iNet router disconnects and can’t reconnect to the internet. The error message says: “The interface is connected, but the Internet can't be accessed.”

When I checked the main router, I found that it had blocked the GL.iNet routers IP because the principal router detected a possible DDoS attack caused by constant pinging. By default, the GL.iNet is set to ping the main router every 5 seconds.

After changing this in the routers admin panel in NETWORK- Multi-WAN , the problem was resolved. If you run into a similar issue, try adjusting the ping frequency to see if it helps.

I had this issue on both models - the GL-SFT1200 and the GL-MT3000.

Wow. That ISP is a touch over zealous! Multi-WAN doesn't provide any benefits unless you're using two or more different ISP's WAN links. You might as well just turn it off; it's just wasting bandwidth & CPU cycles.
