Fail over USB tethering and WAN

Hello,

YES... at last, Fiber to the home. After 8 years connected to the internet by a 8Mbps ADSL line, we have fiber.

1Gbps up and down and working like a charm.

At last I can connect my portable devices to my home network from anywhere.

Two weeks it lasted.

After two weeks, some fools decided to cut the fiber cables to the ground and about 10 villages, 7000 homes, were disconnected.

Thank God I have a MT-6000 and connected my cellphone to the USB port and my home network was up.

For a short while because the connection was cut off.

I remembered that I had to remove the etnernet WAN cable from the MT-6000 and yes, now the internet by cell phone was stable.

The provider ‘gave’ 200GB above my 200GB account so, a bit less speed but my home network was stable and up and running.

Now, after 10 days, slowly people are getting their fiber connections back and mine, I’ll guess, is scheduled for next week.

But my question is, in the menu of the MT-6000 I can set WAN/tethering priority but when the WAN cable is connected, I don’t have a stable outside connection by cell phone.

Is this common or should it also work with the WAN cable connected ?

Yes, I’m using AGH on the MT-6000 too.

Thank you for the great device. For the rest it’s working great.

Greetings Tom

Hi, congratulations on your fiber!

Maybe the tracking that evaluates the WAN isn't correct?

Hello @igrvki ,

thank you for your reply but no, I changed the order in the router so tethering became first.
