Add support for custom DOH or DOT. It will be really useful if user selfhosts DNS server or using some not really popular resolvers.
There is a workaround that you can do. If your device supports Adguard home then you can enable Adguard home and setup your upstream DNS from within adguard home to point to a custom DoH/DoT provider.
This gives you the benefits of adblocking too.
Aside from AdGuard most devices use dnscrypt-proxy v2 for DOH. I have /etc/dnscrypt-proxy2/dnscrypt-proxy.toml symlinked to a custom dnscrypt-proxy.quad9-doh-filter-ip4.toml in the same dir.
I don't bother with DOT any more. :853 might be blocked in my travels. I highly doubt any sane network is going to block :443.
