For example NetworkManager in Linux (i use Arch btw) allows you to do something like:
generate-mac-address-mask=FF:FF:FF:00:00:00
generate-mac-address-base=A4:B5:C6:00:00:00
This helps to bypass anti-randomization filters, while keeping randomization ON (!) and without fallback to persistent MAC.
Also useful to bypass free wifi quotas that check you by MAC, while allowing only "real" macs from OUI whitelist
