Feature request: webcam passthrough

Agreed, would love this on an official update

Since the latest firmware version validates whether the firmware contains a signature, the previous Camera test alpha firmware, which lacked a firmware signature, will be rejected. You can download the older version of the firmware from the official website, flash it back to that version, and then upgrade to this Camera test firmware.

@minmie So, the oldest is version 1.8.1 and that was what I downloaded. I was able to downgrade to it successfully. I tried to use the beta that is posted above, it failed verification. Oh well, Please do let us know when this goes live and thank you for the cool toys you guys put out.

Ok, Thanks. Will try that.

Is there an ETA on when the beta firmware will be released for this?

Just was! Yay.

@minmie hi minmie. Excited to see the camera passthrough released! Have a couple of questions: how does the device identification work for the webcam and also the microphone? What does the host PC see these devices as? Are they disguised? If not, are there any plans to be able to customize how they appear (like how you can choose Corsair or Logitech for the keyboard and mouse?

Thanks!

Edit: it appears that it's being identified with VID and PID as the system as a Logitech nano receiver, which obviously isn't a webcam. Are there any plans to have customized identification for the webcam?

The entire KVM will only have a single PID and VID, so it is impossible to assign a separate PID and VID to a network camera, and thus it cannot achieve this functionality.

We plan to add a name to the Camera so that it appears as a specific name on the controlled computer. And it can be changed by user
