The Android section is no longer up to date.
The recommended " ES file explorer" does not seem to exist anymore and the app named similarly does not work.
New set of instructions (that worked for me):

  • install this app: solid explorer file manager
  • click on “+”
  • new cloud connection
  • LAN/SMB
  • select your device/address
  • guest
  • set advanced: Yes
  • SMB 1

hi,
as noted in the top of that web page. SMB1 is not at all secure.

under section, if you need SMB3

please change "min protocol = SMB1" to "min protocol = SMB2"
