Flashing Rooter to X750 v2

I’m new to LTE routers, but have tried to do my research.

I just got an x750 v2, and I’m trying to figure out how to flash ROOTer onto it. I’m surprised not to find more info.

The documentation that comes with the ROOTer download for the X750 has: 1) a generic sheet with numerous methods to flash that MAY work on any given router; and 2) a *.txt file of methods more specific to my router.

For the X750,the *.txt file says:
“Use web page at http://192.168.1.1/index.html?index

However, my router IP ends in 8.1, rather than 1.1, which I figure is a change with the newer machines.
If I modify the recommended URL to 8.1 it just takes me to the OEM firmware main page. I tried both numbers. 1.1 isn’t recognized at all.

Not sure what I’m supposed to do from there.

There’s a “local upgrade” button where I could attempt to flash ROOTer using the OEM firmware, but I’m not sure that’s the direction they’re sending me.

Is it as simple as dragging and dropping ROOTer to that upgrade box? If not… what’s the preferred method to flash ROOTer to the X750?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Yes. You can just drag and drop. Do NOT reserve settings as they are different firmware.

Thanks!!!
That seemed risky w/o confirmation, so thanks again.

Hmmm… This is what I got by email from support@gl-inet.com:

"You will have to set the unit into uboot mode first to load the firmware file.

To get into uboot then[ follow the instructions listed here. ](https://docs.gl-inet.com/en/3/troubleshooting/debrick/)

[You can also refer to the video found here. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAaaw8nyrnE)"

Hey @John2510

Either way will do it.

Drop and Drag is probably easiest.

If you need to go back to our firmware however you will have to use the uboot method.

Cheers.

Thanks! I’m a newbie, and trying to minimize my challenges while I learn the basics. :slightly_smiling_face:
Much aprpreciated.
