Hi all,
Im trying to set up Flint 2 to replace my ISP router. From the ISP I have a ONT+Router. I already have the PPOE credentials.
I have connected the Flint 2 to the ont through wan port and when i insert the PPOE credentials it gives an log error:
Connect: pppoe-wan <—> eth1.20
Remote message: Login incorrect
PAP authentication failed
Connection Terminated.
Sent PADT
Exit.
I already double check the PPOE credentials.
I’m doing something wrong?
Thanks for the help.

Did you double-check that VLAN 20 is correct?
Is there maybe a MAC filter on the ISPs ONT?

If the user and password are identical to your isp router.
Then it is possible they have a security measure active.
What this mean for you, is that they now logged two devices with different mac address using these settings, this is by most isp not allowed.
You will be temporary blocked, oftenly you can still use the mac of the original router, but if you want to use current mac two scenarios can happen:
- the isp lifts the ban over some time not longer than 3 hours.
- the isp keeps the ban.
As workaround you could try cloning the wan mac to your own Flint 2 wan, then likely you won't get blocked.

This is why it’s good to know which ISP it is so we can check.
ISP= Internet Service Provider.
I know what ISP is an abbreviation for, I want to know the OP’s ISP provider.
