I have a flint 2, connected througn the WAN port to a inseego m3000 hotspot via an ethernet cable in router mode. If I connect to the hotspot itself via wifi, then all my games work and everything's good to go. If I connect via an ethernet cable to the flint 2, it wants to block random ports like UDP 9986, which I need for PilotEdge, and causes War Thunder servers to not connect. I even tried opening that port in the router to no avail. Everything else seems to work fine, ie. posting this request or watching youtube. Genuinely just random ports that work on the hotspot, the flint 2 seems to dislike when the only difference is connecting to the flint 2 wifi vs my hotspot's directly.
Everything works perfectly if I connect directly to my hotspot, but as soon as I put the router between them (with all the fancy addons like AdGuard and ZeroTier that I bought the thing in the first place for turned off) stuff stops working.
Please help, much appreciated.
P.S. -
Clarifying, The hotspot is next to my window. The flint 2 is connected via an ethernet cable to hotspot. PC connected to flint 2 via ethernet cable.
If I connect to my hotspot's wifi, everything works. If I connect to the flint 2's wifi or ethernet, random ports are blocked despite being explicitly set to open in the router's settings.
The GL router does not block any random ports from LAN > WAN, including UDP 9986.
Is it possible that this game server is more sensitive to NAT?
If you add a router, it is equivalent to an extra layer of NAT when you go to the PC, and when the PC directly connects to the hotspot, it lacks a layer of NAT.
These approaches may improve NAT levels.
Does inseego m3000 support "modem bridge" mode? If supported, you can switch it to this mode, it will hand over the modem IP obtained by ISP to the WAN of Flint2.
Try to enable Flint2's Full Cone NAT in GL GUI > Network > NAT settings
I have enabled modem bridge on my inseego m3000. The internet works, but the issue mentioned before persists.
I have enabled full cone nat. The internet works, but the issue mentioned before persists.
I have also installed upnp via luci-app-upnp (git-20.332.74200-03c77da) and enabled the Start UPnP and NAT-PMP service and UPnP functionality, same issue. All 3 things mentioned above are now enabled or attempted, and the issue still persists.
I have also restarted my entire network including PC after making those changes, the issue still persists.
I have now completed a firmware reset of the flint 2, and only made the changes you suggested so that I have a fresh clean start with only thos changes, and restarted the flint 2. The issue still persists.
