Flint 2 Firmware upgrade wipes out watchcat

Every time I upgrade the firmware on the Flint 2 (this has happened several times now) I have to manually uninstall watchcat from the plugins menu and reinstall it before it will continue to function.

I need watchcat because my ISP connection will fairly frequently go down in a way that requires restarting the interface or rebooting the router (or rebooting the modem which I handle with a local smart plug running a script).

When I install it, it shows in luci, and every time I reinstall it, it seems to have retained the config from the last time. But as soon as I upgrade the firmware, it disappears from the luci interface and seems to stop working such that my router won’t reboot automatically. It will still show installed on the Flint 2 plugins menu, so I have to go in and uninstall and then reinstall for it to work.

Is there any way to make it retain watchcat?

Hi

This is expected behavior β€” third-party plugins are not preserved during firmware upgrades.
Firmware updates may modify core system components that these plugins depend on, and keeping third-party plugins could cause compatibility issues or even prevent the system from booting properly.

We recommend manually reinstalling any required plugins after completing the upgrade.
