Besides applying this via the config file in cli how do you get the tab to appear? I removed the basic wpad and added the full package over luci. Rebooted and it still does not appear. This is for a wired backhaul setup.
Thanks

Hi
If you need to use 802.11r, we recommend using the op version 4.8.2-op24.
You can download it here and install it following this tutorial.
Okay I'll have to downgrade then
I actually upgraded form 8.3 thinking it would fix it
Version 4.8.4

Oh you mean go full openwrt. Trying to avoid that for now due to all the other modules I will have to add and configure like PBR and more. I do like the simplicity of the stock firmware but just seems weird even with the full version of wpad installed it’s still not accessible via the luci panel.
The stock firmware is based on the closed-source MTK SDK, so certain features may not appear in Luci.
If you wish to configure 802.11r through Luci, we generally recommend using the op24 firmware.
It also includes the GL UI, so the overall user experience remains largely the same in this regard.
I had no idea, so if I flash that I will keep the same gui with the vpn and tailscale setup? The simplicity of split tunnel and pasting all my domains in vs the openwrt firmware and making one rule at a time is annoying. Plus having to configje PPPoE fiber worth a specific vlan is a bit of a process in the normal openwrt interface
Yes, op24 still has GL.iNet UI.
As with the stock version, the GL UI runs on ports 80/443, while the Luci UI runs on ports 8080/8443.
Thanks that worked. Is TX power locked at 20 normal on a flint 2 purchased in USA?
The power values shown in the Luci interface are not entirely accurate.
Due to regulatory requirements, transmit power levels differ across frequency bands, so a precise fixed value cannot be displayed.
Please simply ensure that the Country Code is configured correctly — this will automatically apply the appropriate power limits.
I understand and yes it’s set to US
I do get this after the fw downgrade
Unknown error occurred. Please check the network environment or reboot the device.
I assume I need to grab a backup from advanced settings, wipe and restore from backup?
I just noticed that version 4.8.2-op24 is actually a firmware downgrade in your case.
When downgrading, it’s generally not recommended to enable "Keep Settings", as this may lead to system environment inconsistencies or unexpected behavior.
To ensure stability, please restore the device to factory settings and manually reconfigure everything.
For longer or more complex configurations—such as VPN domain lists—you can copy them before performing the reset.
Afterward, simply paste them back in to restore your settings quickly.
