Why does the flint 2 NOT have the option in (network - interfaces - lan - advanced settings) to override the Mac address?

Luci -> network -> interfaces, navigate to tab menu -> devices.
And then edit br-lan?

Can't you use the GL GUI for that?
Network Settings > Ethernet Port > Choose LAN interface > MAC "clone" > Enter MAC
Nope, as far as I know that changes the Mac address shown to the ISP and not to your devices.
Ah, you want to overwrite the MAC of your router itself, so all MACs on each NIC.
Can you post a screenshot how your luci settings window looks like?
