Flint 2 replacing mikrotik router

Hello I have currently mikrotik net work at home (4 devices) I have like 50 wifi devices total but wifi on mikrotik sucks I'm. Looking for alternatives I used open wrt on my tp link arch c9 long time ago.

I saw the the black Friday sale on this flint 2 and wonder if it's a good replacement for my mikrotik network? I need vlan only for wireless devices.

It might be.

Personally, I would say that the MikroTik router is better because you will have a way better overview of what is going on. But MikroTik's configuration is really painful.

For excessive usage of VLAN, I would recommend using plain OpenWrt instead of the GL GUI.

So it's a bit about your needs and you might just give it a try.

Which Mikrotik are you looking to replace

Dear @marine88,

I'm curious to know if your network will be able host up to 90+ guest devices?
With the upcoming winter holidays, many families and friends will visit, and some may bring up to three devices each.
The question remains: how demanding can you theorize will the WiFi and segregated network be suitable for such a scenario?

Wishing you a happy time of troubleshooting and Happy Wednesday :coffee:
