Wonder if anyone can help with this one.
I have just got out an old Synology NAS the DS214+ that I haven’t used for ages. I have it plugged straight into the flint 2 using ports 4 & 5 both are running at 1000 Mbps full duplex.
I’ve mapped the drives in windows {11 pro) but the transfer speeds are really slow I’m only getting between 30/33MB/s last time I used it I was getting over 90MB/s on the same drives as well.
Any idea what could be causing these slow speeds.
First’ I’d suggest you take a look here:
See if anything has changed, but certainly disable Wi-Fi on the PC (if you have it), and any AV scans that may be taking place as any disk-intensive ops will slow performance.
That place is a waste of space about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard.
I have started a topic on another helpful forum I visit here where I have tried quite a few things but to no avail. I am going to try the device on a friends PC who is with a different ISP just to count that issue out as well. I think my only other alternative for now is to copy the files onto a USB drive and copy that over to the NAS it should be quicker than 33MB/s I can also just leave that on so I can get on with other stuff on my PC.

We have reviewed the information and the related discussion you shared.
We are glad to see that the file transfer speed has recovered to approximately 108 MB/s after adjusting the SMB and DSM settings.
If possible, could you let us know which DSM settings were adjusted? This may provide a useful reference for other users experiencing similar transfer-speed issues.

There was no fix for this issue on the Synology site.
I have had to disable SMB Server Signing in windows 11 pro via powershell the only issue I had with DSM was that SMB was set to SMB2 as max and SMB1 as minimum I changed this to what it should be SMB3 as max and SMB2 as minimum this should have been the default settings but it didn’t work. So the only way around this was to disable SMB Server Signing in windows (which I will re-enable once I have transferred the files over to the NAS).
I had one other issue with DSM not seeing I have set up UPNP inside luci but I have no idea why after disabling SMB Server Signing in windows it found it straight away I found that strange or just a coincidence.
