Hello, I just got my flint2 and tested both it’s stock os version and openwrt 24.10.4. Before flint2, I had an tp-link archer ax53 ax3000 (so arguably worse). On both glinet openwrt and stock openwrt, flint2 was worse than my previous router on wifi speeds. What’s even worse, the signal (same position as last router) is extremely bad, a camera I had at 25m from the router can’t connect to it, actually even my phone disconnects at about 10-15m on the way to the camera (i can see the wifi with 1-2 lines of signal but it won’t connect to it - it just keeps disconnecting when the signal is low) Is there something I need to do for it to work better? Also: the distance to the camera is not obstructed by pretty much anything, it’s an exterior one and the old router could easily “power” it. Edit: the camera works in 2.4ghz
Hi
Please refer to this tutorial to configure the country code according to your region:
Cannot Scan Android 5G Hotspot - GL.iNet Router Docs 4
Afterwards, go to GL UI → Admin Panel → Wireless and set the transmit power to maximum.
This ensures the router operates at the highest signal strength permitted by regional regulations and hardware limits.
If the camera still has trouble connecting, try adjusting the antenna orientation or switching to a Wi-Fi band with less interference.
Hello, managed to connect the camera by taking it inside, connecting to it and then putting it back and it works just fine. It wouldn’t find a signal to connect where it was placed. Thanks for the insights.
