If 4.8.0op24 contains the GL GUI I'll say no. No doubt their custom routing/firewall scripts & nonstandard configuration files are going to cause havoc with pure OWRT. Related:

You can download a backup of the configuration files through the LuCI web interface. After successfully flashing the OpenWRT 24.10.2 firmware onto the router, you can then manually restore your settings.
Use the previously backed-up backup.tar.gz file as a reference to review the configuration files inside.
Do not directly overwrite the new system's files, re-enter the configurations manually, item by item.
