GL-A1300 - Unknown error occurred. Please check the network environment or reboot the device

I already did the factory reset via button on the side of the router. Now when I connect to the admin panel to input my admin password for the initial setup I get the error message:

Unknown error occurred. Please check the network environment or reboot the device

what do I do now?

If it was me, I’d try reloading firmware via Uboot .. What should I do if my router is bricked - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

It sound the error has to do when the environment is offline aka the router, and the page you are seeing is a offline cached version of it where the api calls fail.

Please ensure your connectivity is restored.

  • that you are on the same subnet as the router
  • maybe make sure to force dhcp by doing ipconfig /renew followed by ipconfig /all through cmd, if on a pc.
  • and try icognito mode in case of weird caching problems
  • double check if no vpn client is active on mobile or pc these can block access to the router.

If all above still doesn't bring up a solution, I want to know more information.

Such as:

  • topology
  • use case
  • which device this page has been used to.

Hi

This is a known issue on the A1300 4.5.22 firmware version that occurs when the password contains special characters.
Please try setting a temporary simple password using only letters and numbers.
After successfully logging in, you can change it back to a strong password (with symbols) under SYSTEM → Security → Admin Password and use it normally.

This issue will be fixed in the next firmware release.
Beta 4.7.x version also fixed it.
